Weed Management Solutions
Members of Tully, Song, and Crooked Lakes are learning about the possible use of targeted herbicides to address Eurasian Water Milfoil. In this photo, Jon Gosselin from SerPRO discusses how it might be an option to address the overabundance of this aquatic invasive species. Currently residents and their Associations utilize weed harvesting, benthic mats, lake bed suctioning, and hand raking to clear pathways for recreation and to diminish the spread. Starry stonewort, chara, curly and broadleaf pond weed, water lilies and native milfoil are among the plant species which threaten our lake ecosystems.
